We’re always delighted to celebrate our clients’ successes, so we’re thrilled to tell you that Together! 2012 CIC has been awarded Green Business of the Year 2017 in Newham Chamber’s second annual business awards.
Together! is more than a name; it is also the organisation’s ethos. It promotes inclusion and independent living, and supports the health and wellbeing of disabled people and carers through improved self-esteem and self-confidence and wider social networking. It is led by locally based disabled artists, and aims to create a Paralympic cultural Legacy in East London by making the London Borough of Newham, the Olympics and Paralympics’ main host, into an international centre of excellence for Disability Arts.
The charity’s Artistic Director, Dr Ju Gosling, stated, “We are particularly pleased [to have won this award] because it is highly unusual for a disabled-led business to be setting the standard for other businesses in areas other than disability, and equally unusual for an arts organisation whose focus is not the environment to be recognised for its environmental work. All of our artists and team members have contributed in some way towards this success, as of course have our support team, including our accountants Nordens, whose work for us is very largely paperless.”
Cliff Segree and Sarah Hughes attended a celebration dinner at the Old Town Hall in Stratford to accept the award on the charity’s behalf. The organisation was also a finalist in the Community Benefit section.
Our warmest congratulations go to the exceptionally dedicated team at Together! 2012 CIC.
If you would be interested in knowing more about the charity or ways to offer your support, we’ll be pleased to introduce you to Ju Gosling. Let us know by calling 020 8530 0720 or emailing paula.w@nordens.co.uk and we’ll put you in touch.
