As you may already know, we’re proud to be raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), our charity of the year. For the past few months we’ve been training hard for our upcoming fundraising walk – the 15.6 mile route from our head office in Woodford to our satellite office in Soho!
It’s a wonderful walk, taking us along the edge of Wanstead Flats then down towards Stratford and through the Olympic Park, across Victoria Park and into town to meet up with the Thames around Shadwell. We’ll then walk through historic Wapping and past the Tower of London and various bridges along the Embankment until we turn off to pass Trafalgar and Leicester Squares on our way towards our final destination: Soho Square.
Our 29 walkers will head off at 9am on Friday, 14th September and should (!!!!) be finished around 5pm. While some are going the full distance, others are joining us for the final eight miles – quite an undertaking for a team of accountants, tax, VAT and payroll specialists, plus our strategic planning, bookkeeping and admin teams.
We’ll be walking in GOSH t-shirts and waving collection buckets, which we’re hoping to be able to use during the journey. (At the time of writing we’re still waiting for the relevant permissions.)
We’re aiming to stop for lunch around Stratford, and dinner and drinks will close the evening – probably along with a good deal of foot massaging!!
Cheering us along the way is mandatory – and if you do spot us please feel free to supply us with sweets, crisps, water and a big pat on the back!
If you’d like to donate to this fantastic cause or find out why we chose GOSH as our Charity of the Year, here’s a link to our JustGiving page, with many, many thanks.
